One GRITS Journey To Convert Beloved Southern Recipes to Paleo Approved, and Darn GOOD too!

This is my story of how I am striving to change my family's life, nutritionally, for the better. Here in the deep South Keto is just now becoming more known.
After reading Gary Taubes enlightning GOOD CALORIES, BAD CALORIES I was determine to change! Armed with my own two hands, the internet (thank God for AMAZON.com), and all those wonderful blogs and podcasts available now, I am beginning my journey.
Please feel free to join me as I try to adapt all of our Southern Favorites into Gluten Free and Keto Appropriate Scrumptiousness!!! I will try to post all of the good ones, and may even blog about some failures along the way.

Labels....To use them or not...Paleo.. Paleo 2.0, Modified Paleo, Archevore???

My favorite "Health and Nutrition" Blog just changed its name.... You know how I have said more than once that my "diet lifestyle" is Paloeish....or a modified Paleo life.
I think that there is more too it though... I do not believe that we should eat a certain way solely because our ancestors did it that way...I think that research, good solid scientific research, should be put to good use. There are some things we have available now (like cheeses and butter) that are perfectly fine for most of  us...

Below is an exert from Dr. Kurt Harris's blog -
The name change to Archevore is something I've contemplated for a long time. I still think evolutionary reasoning is a valuable tool in our kitbag, but I also feel that for historical reasons that the term "Paleo" has been and will remain somewhat limiting, even apart from the obviously non-scientific claims being made on it's behalf.
I view "paleo" logic, with it's skimpy empirical base, as very useful, but secondary to the information we have from modern medicine and information from nutritional transitions in recent centuries.
So the name change is not a sudden abandonment of the Paleo 2.0 idea. Far from it. I would still not mind being labeled as Paleo 2.0, as I've obviously gone to the trouble to define it right here, for my own convenience if no one else's.
The blog name change is because I do not think of myself as "paleo" -I do not eat in a way that the leading luminaries of paleo consider "paleo", even as I am confident that a cup of butter fits the EM2 better than a cup of walnuts. I think it is more fruitful (no pun intended) going forward to just adopt my own label for what I do rather than try to re-mold a whole movement, even as I remain happy if people who call themselves paleo want to read my writings and they get something from it.
I am definitely not trying to shoo anyone away. I do feel that labels can be important in communicating what something is, and what it is not.....
Most of the bloggers and writers that I would label as 2.0 do not in fact affiliate with or call themselves "paleo" at all - Stephan, Peter, Eades, Kresser, Jaminet, Sisson. So it makes no sense for me to call myself that anymore either.

I 100% agree with him. I think his interpretations of the research are so solid and right on... I will continue to learn so much from his articles I am sure!!!
I am not at all interested in labels myself, but it GOOD SOLID NUTRITION for myself and my family, and my friends! Whatever one wishes to call it!!!!

For now I find it easier to stick with Paleo, and then talk of how my version differs and why... Maybe I will jump ship one day and not even use the term Paleo-- I really don't care for it much.....
I do think the nutrition lifestyle plan my family subscribes to is much inline with Paleo, but there are some definate differances in my beliefs and how we "practice"....
Just food for my thoughts I guess...
